Le Chéile Collective
'Le Chéile Collective' is a vibrant guild of local designers and photographers, deeply rooted in the artistic heart of Kenmare, County Kerry. Drawing inspiration from the stunning natural beauty, rich heritage, and dynamic community spirit of the region, this collective brings together a diverse array of creative talent. The name, Le Chéile, Irish for "together" or "with each other," perfectly embodies their ethos: a collaborative effort to showcase and elevate the high-quality, distinctive design and photography emerging from this picturesque corner of Ireland.
The group’s major undertaking in the summer of 2024 was a six-week mixed media showcase titled 'Le Chéile Showcase' at the historic Kenmare Butter Market, running from June 29th to August 17th. This ambitious exhibition served as a vibrant cultural hub, drawing in an estimated 4,000 visitors to experience the diverse creative expressions of local architects, ceramicists, graphic designers, photographers, and other creative professionals. The showcase also featured engaging guest speaker evenings with notable figures like designer Paul Galvin and award-winning photographer Rich Gilligan, transforming the Butter Market into a dynamic forum for celebrating Kenmare's thriving design and photography community.
